Rainbow Room International offer training to NVQ level 3 through Modern Apprenticeships in Hairdressing.   

Modern Apprenticeships offer those aged over sixteen paid employment ombined with the opportunity to train.
They are an exciting way of gaining skills and qualifications that will help to start your career without having to study full-time.

Who are they for?
Modern Apprenticeships are aimed at those over 16 and capable of achieving  Scottish Vocational Qualification at Level 2 or above.

Who can take part?
Young people between the ages of 16 and 19 can take part in Modern Apprenticeships.
The only exception is students who are still at school or who are in further or higher education.  

What does it offer?
MAs helps you train to nationally-recognised standards. The cost of your training will be covered. 

Which qualification will I be working towards?
In our case;  a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) to level 2. and/or level 3. NVQs are a measure of the skills and knowledge you have developed in doing the job itself. They are assessed practically and not based on your ability to pass exams. NVQs are recognised and accepted by industry throughout the country.

How do NVQs work?
You will work through unit or modules until you achieve the level of experience and knowledge required for the job you are doing. You will be assessed on your ability to do the job either at the college or training centre or in your workplace.

Will I get a certificate?
Yes, City and Guilds will award your NVQ. If you complete a Modern Apprenticeship, you will also receive a certificate to show you are qualified in your particular industry.

How long will it take?
Most trainees should attain their NVQ level 2 in 12 – 18 months. Those taking the full Modern apprenticeship to Level 3 will take between 18 & 24 months.
