A WEEK OF FUNDRAISING FOR TEENAGE CANCER TRUST

November 23, 2017

This month our twelve Rainbow Room International salons came together to raise money for a fantastic charity close to our hearts, Teenage Cancer Trust. The Teenage Cancer Trust produce world-class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support ensuring young people don't have to face cancer alone.

All of our twelve Rainbow Room International salons got involved in the week of fundraising, selling wristbands and pin badges at the reception desks and as well as this, many of the salons held their own fundraising activities. The Rainbow Room International Academy had all their young apprentices dress down for a day whereas the Bearsden salon had all their stylists dress as apprentices for the day. The East Kilbride salon got involved in fundraising and donated £1 from each of their clients bills and gave them the opportunity to match that £1 too if they wished to do so as well as the Crow Road salon, who had a 'big hair day' where stylists had to come into the salon with big bold hairstyles. The Rainbow Room International Ayr salon decorated the salon to help raise awareness for the charity, putting posters all around the salon and at their reception desks. The salon also had hair products on sale, giving client the chance to buy their favourite hair products at a discounted price whilst raising money for the charity. Great Western Road had an array of activities, having their own 'Bake Off' where stylists brought in cakes and cookies that clients could take in return for a donation to the charity. Sienna, the salons level 2 assistant, won the bake off with her Victoria Sponge. The Uddingston team also had a bake sale alongside a pyjama day in the salon. The Great Western Road salon also took part in a casual day where stylists could come in wearing casual clothes for the day and a pyjama day where they all had to wear their pyjamas for the day. The salon also had a raffle that ran through the week too, giving clients the opportunity to win vouchers, haircuts and hair products.

As well as selling pin badges and wristbands the Royal Exchange Square salon team fundraised for the charity in another fantastic way, by getting all their staff together to record a Christmas single. The Royal Exchange salon has done this for many years, raising money for another charity close to their hearts. However, they are delighted to be able to do this for another year, selling the CD's in the salon with all proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

John Paul Parker, Salon Director and Owner of Rainbow Room International's Great Western Road salon commented, "It's been a great, fun week of fundraising for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a fantastic charity that we were delighted to spread awareness of and help raise funds for. At Rainbow Room International we are always happy to fundraise and support in any way we can to benefit good causes and we hope our week of fundraising has raised lots of money for Teenage Cancer Trust and made them proud!"
